Image resizer
Set the width and height in pixels, choose how the picture fits and the format to save, then compare dimensions and file size before you download. Use it to resize an image for a profile, a store listing or an email, or to make a picture smaller or larger.

How to use it
- Choose a JPEG, PNG or WebP image, or drop it on the box.
- Type a width or a height in pixels. With the aspect-ratio lock on, the other side is calculated for you. You can also start from a common size and edit its numbers.
- If the target ratio differs from your picture, pick a fit mode: fit inside with a background, fill and crop the overflow, or stretch.
- Choose the format and quality, check the new dimensions and size, and download.
Example
A 1600×1200 photo with the ratio lock on: typing a width of 800 sets the height to 600, and the downloaded file is exactly 800×600.
The same photo with the 1080×1080 size and "Fit inside": the picture is scaled to 1080×810 and centered on a 1080×1080 canvas, with the rest filled by the background color. With "Fill and crop", a centered 1200×1200 square is taken from the original and then scaled down.
Limits and caveats
- The listed sizes are common starting points, not the official requirement of any platform. Platforms change their sizes, so check your platform and edit the numbers.
- Enlarging cannot add detail: new pixels are interpolated from their neighbors, so the picture looks softer. The tool warns you when you upscale.
- The image is redrawn through Canvas, so EXIF data such as location and camera model is dropped after the orientation is applied. Saving as JPEG or WebP is lossy at the quality you choose.
- JPEG has no transparency, so transparent areas are filled with the background color.
- Tested limits: files up to 40 MB and 50 megapixels in, and up to 50 megapixels with sides of at most 12000 px out. An 8000×6000 JPEG output was tested in desktop Chromium; large sizes may fail on phones with little memory.
- One image at a time. Animated GIF, HEIC and SVG are not supported.
Questions about this tool
Are these the official sizes for Instagram or marketplaces?
No. They are commonly used sizes offered only as a starting point, and you can edit the width and height after choosing one. Always check the current requirements of the platform you publish on.
What is the difference between fit, fill and stretch?
Fit keeps the whole picture and adds a background around it. Fill covers the whole size and crops what overflows at the edges. Stretch forces the exact dimensions and distorts the picture when the ratio differs.
Why did the file get bigger after I made the image smaller?
This can happen when saving as PNG, or at high quality from a heavily compressed original. The tool shows the real size before download, so try JPEG or WebP at a lower quality.
How do I resize an image to exact pixels?
Type the new width or height in pixels with the aspect-ratio lock on, and the other side is calculated so the picture keeps its shape. A 1600×1200 photo with a width of 800 becomes exactly 800×600. For a size with a different ratio, turn the lock off and pick “Fit inside” or “Fill and crop” so nothing is distorted.
Can I make an image bigger without losing quality?
No. You can enlarge an image here, but upscaling cannot add detail, so the picture looks softer the more you enlarge it. New pixels are interpolated from their neighbors and the tool warns you when you upscale. The output can be up to 50 megapixels with sides of at most 12000 px.
