Image rotator and flipper
Fix the orientation with exact right-angle turns or a free angle, mirror the picture, and decide what happens to the empty corners before you download. Use it to rotate an image taken sideways, or to flip an image horizontally when a selfie comes out mirrored.

How to use it
- Choose a JPEG, PNG or WebP image, or drop it on the box.
- Use the buttons to rotate 90 degrees left or right or 180 degrees, or move the angle slider, or type an angle between -180 and 180.
- Turn on the horizontal or vertical flip if you need it.
- For free angles choose between expanding the canvas to fit the whole picture or keeping the original size and clipping, then pick a background color or transparency.
- Check the preview and the output dimensions, then download.
Example
A 1600×1200 photo rotated 90 degrees to the right becomes 1200×1600, with nothing cut off.
A 200×100 image rotated 45 degrees with "Expand to fit" becomes 213×213 px with the corners filled by the background color. With "Original size, clip" it stays 200×100 and whatever falls outside is cut off.
Limits and caveats
- Turns of 90 and 180 degrees and flips move pixels as they are. Free angles resample the pixels, so edges and fine detail become slightly softer.
- A positive angle turns clockwise. The flip is applied first, then the rotation.
- JPEG and WebP are saved at quality 92, which means a slight lossy re-compression even for right-angle turns. Choose PNG to avoid it. Lossless JPEG rotation without re-encoding is not offered.
- JPEG has no transparency, so empty corners and transparent areas are filled with the background color. A transparent background is available for PNG and WebP only.
- EXIF data such as location and camera model is dropped because the image is redrawn; the EXIF orientation is applied before your rotation.
- The preview is reduced to stay fast; the downloaded file is rendered from the full-resolution image. Tested limits: files up to 40 MB and 50 megapixels, one image at a time. Expanding at a free angle enlarges the output: a 49 megapixel photo at 33 degrees produced about 95 megapixels, which worked in desktop Chromium and may fail on phones.
Questions about this tool
Does a 90 degree rotation reduce quality?
The same pixels are moved without resampling. With PNG nothing is lost; with JPEG or WebP the image is re-compressed at quality 92, which costs a little.
What is the difference between expanding the canvas and keeping the original size?
Expanding grows the canvas until the whole rotated picture fits, leaving empty corners that are filled with the background. Keeping the original size preserves the width and height and clips whatever falls outside.
How do I straighten a slightly tilted photo?
Type a small angle such as 1.5 or -2 in the angle field and watch the preview. The field accepts decimals, while the slider moves one whole degree at a time.
How do I flip an image like a mirror?
Turn on the horizontal flip and the picture is mirrored left to right, then download it. The vertical flip mirrors it top to bottom instead. A flip moves the pixels as they are, so with PNG nothing is lost.
How do I rotate an image that is sideways or upside down?
Press the 90° right or left button, or 180° for an upside-down picture, then download it the right way up. A 1600×1200 photo rotated 90 degrees becomes 1200×1600 with nothing cut off.
