Sign PDF
Add your signature to a PDF without printing or scanning: draw it on the screen, type your name in a handwriting style or upload a picture of your signature, then place it where it belongs on the page and download the signed file. Handy for contracts, forms and declarations, and it all happens inside your browser. The result is a simple visible electronic signature, a picture of your signature on the page, not a certificate-based digital signature.

Processing and privacy: Your files are processed inside your browser and are not uploaded to any server.
How to use it
- Choose the PDF you want to sign.
- Create your signature in one of three ways: draw it with a mouse, finger or pen, type your name to show it in a handwriting style, or upload a scanned signature (PNG, JPEG or WebP).
- Choose the page, then click or tap the preview where the signature should go. Drag it to move it, set its size with the slider, or use a quick position such as “Bottom right”.
- Repeat on other pages if you need to, for example sign page 1 and put your initials on page 3. You can add a date line under the signature.
- Press “Sign PDF”, check the preview of the signed page, then download the file. Your original file stays as it is.
Example
A three-page contract: you draw your signature with a finger on your phone, place it at the bottom right of page 3 at 25% of the page width with the date line, then add a smaller copy at 10% at the bottom of page 1 as initials. The result is contract-signed.pdf with the signature on pages 1 and 3 only, and page 2 completely unchanged.
Limits and caveats
- This is a visible signature (a picture of your signature on the page), not a certified digital signature: there is no certificate and nothing protects the file from changes after signing. Whether a visible signature is accepted depends on the recipient; if they ask for a certificate-based digital signature, use a certified signing service.
- If the file already carries a digital signature, saving it again with your signature added invalidates that earlier digital signature, and the tool warns you about it.
- Tested limits: one file up to 100 MB and 500 pages, a signature image up to 40 MB and 50 megapixels (scaled down to at most 1600 px on its longest side), a typed name up to 50 characters, a signature width of 5% to 60% of the page width, and up to 50 placements per file.
- The signature is embedded once as a PNG with a transparent background, however many times it appears, so the file barely grows. Removing the white background of an uploaded image works well with white paper and dark ink; shadows or coloured paper can leave traces.
- The position is worked out on the page as you see it, honouring page rotation (/Rotate) and the crop box, so the signature stays upright on rotated pages too.
- The date line is real text in IBM Plex Sans Arabic with Western digits, and you can edit it before signing. Pages without a signature are not changed at all.
- Password-protected or encrypted files are refused; the tool does not bypass protection.
Questions about this tool
Is this a legally valid digital signature?
We do not claim that. The tool places a picture of your signature on the page, known as a visible signature, not a certificate-based digital signature. It does not prove who signed and does not reveal later changes to the file. Many organisations accept a visible signature for everyday paperwork, but that is up to the recipient and the rules they follow, so ask them if you are not sure.
Is my signature or my file uploaded anywhere?
No. Drawing the signature, preparing it and adding it to the file all happen inside your browser on your device. Neither the file nor the signature image is sent to any server, and nothing is kept once you close the page.
How do I sign a PDF on my phone?
Open the tool in your phone’s browser and choose the file, then pick “Draw” and sign with your finger inside the box; the page does not scroll while you draw. Then tap the spot you want on the page preview, drag the signature to fine-tune it, press “Sign PDF” and download the result.
How do I sign several pages of the same file?
After placing the signature on one page, choose another page from the page list and click where it should go. Every placement appears in a list with its page number, and you can remove any of them. You can also put more than one signature on the same page with “Add another signature on this page”.
How do I make the background of my signature image transparent?
Choose “Upload image” and leave “Remove the white background” switched on. The tool clears the white around the ink and crops the empty margins, so the signature sits on the page text without a white box. Photograph the signature on white paper in good light for the best result.
How do I sign a PDF electronically?
Choose the PDF, draw your signature, type your name or upload a picture of it, click where it goes on the page, then press “Sign PDF” and download the signed file. The result is a visible signature on the page, not a certificate-based digital signature, so check that the recipient accepts it.
Can I add the date when I sign a PDF?
Yes. Turn on the date line to show it under the signature; it is real text with Western digits, and you can edit it before signing. Pages without a signature are not changed at all.
