How to use it
- Choose 2 to 12 JPEG, PNG or WebP images and put them in order with the move up and move down buttons.
- Pick the layout: a grid with the number of columns you set (2 images in 2 columns = side by side, 4 images in 2 columns = 2×2, 9 images in 3 columns = 3×3), or one large image with the rest small beside it.
- Set the cell shape, the fit (crop to fill the cell, or contain the whole image), the spacing, margin, background and corner radius.
- Enter the output width in pixels, check the final dimensions and the preview, then download the collage.
Example
Two 300×200 images in 2 columns with a 20 px gap, 0 margin, 620 px output width and the cell shape of the first image: each cell is 300×200 and the output is 620×200 px, with the gap between the images in the background color.
Limits and caveats
- The output is limited to 40 megapixels and a width between 200 and 8000 px. When the computed size is above the limit the tool refuses the download and shows the size instead of producing a broken file. The largest output we tested is 8000×4500 px (36 megapixels) from 12 images.
- The height is derived from the width, the number of rows and the cell shape; it cannot be typed in. All grid cells share the same height.
- “Crop to fill” cuts the edges of an image around its center, and the crop area cannot be moved. Use “Contain” to show the whole image with the background around it.
- The preview is drawn from reduced copies, while the downloaded file is drawn from the original images at full resolution. Enlarging a small image to fill a big cell makes it softer.
- JPEG has no transparency, so a transparent background is available for PNG and WebP only. JPEG and WebP are saved at quality 92, PNG is lossless.
- There is no drag-and-drop reordering, only keyboard-accessible buttons. The tool does not add text or frames. File limits: 40 MB and 50 megapixels per image.
Questions about this tool
How do I make a 2×2 or 3×3 collage?
Choose 4 images and 2 columns for 2×2, or 9 images and 3 columns for 3×3. The number of rows follows from the number of images and columns, and the result is shown next to the dimensions.
What happens when the last row is incomplete?
By default the images in the last row stretch to fill the full width. Turn that option off to keep every cell the same size and let the background show in the empty cells.
Do the images lose quality in the collage?
Each image is drawn from its original file at the size its cell needs. With a large output width the detail is kept; JPEG and WebP are compressed at quality 92.
How do I combine two photos into one?
Choose the two photos and keep 2 columns to place them side by side, or pick 1 column to stack them one above the other, then download the combined image. You can set the gap, background color and output width in pixels, and save as JPEG, PNG or WebP.
How many photos can I put in one collage?
One collage holds 2 to 12 photos in up to 6 columns. The output can be up to 8000 px wide and 40 megapixels in total, and the tool shows the final dimensions before you download.
