How do I price a three-product bundle at 15% off?

Add up the three regular prices, then enter the total with 15% in the discount calculator. For products at 89, 59 and 37, the total is 185, the bundle price is 157.25 and the saving is 27.75. That last figure is the headline of your offer.

Example: a three-piece skincare bundle

Say you sell a cleanser at 89, a serum at 59 and a cream at 37, and want to sell them together as one bundle at 15% less than buying them separately.

  1. Add the prices: 89 + 59 + 37 = 185.
  2. Open the Discount calculator and enter 185 as the original price and 15 as the discount.
  3. The final price, 157.25, is the bundle price, and the saving, 27.75, is what goes in the description.

Discount on the total or on each item?

The result is the same, because the discount is a fixed share of every riyal or dirham. If you need to split the bundle price across its products, for example because your platform wants a price for each item in the bundle, run each on its own:

Worked example

89 at 15% off: 75.65.

59 at 15% off: 50.15.

37 at 15% off: 31.45.

Total 75.65 + 50.15 + 31.45 = 157.25, the same bundle price.

Here the figures match exactly. With other prices ending in odd cents, rounding each item can leave a one-cent gap; in that case keep the bundle price from the total and adjust one item by a cent so the split adds up.

Presenting the bundle so it lands

  • Show the separate price, 185, then the bundle price, 157.25, then 'save 27.75'.
  • Shoppers tend to remember a money saving more than a percentage, especially when the percentage is modest.
  • If you want a round price such as 157 or 155, work out the new rate and make sure you never advertise a bigger one than you give.

Does the bundle pay?

The discount comes off the whole revenue, but your costs have not changed. Add up the cost of the three products and enter it with the bundle price in the Profit margin calculator to see the bundle's margin. If you would rather start from the margin, deciding what the bundle must earn and then pricing it, use the Selling-price calculator and come back to the discount calculator for the rate to advertise.

A good bundle often pairs a product that sells easily on its own with a slower one, so the first carries the second, and you ship one parcel instead of three.

Common questions

Can I enter the three products in the calculator directly?

No, it takes a single price. Add the prices first, then enter the total.

I want the discount on the cheapest item only. How do I work it out?

Enter the cheapest item's price with its rate, then take the saving off the bundle total.
