Is the text I paste to remove diacritics uploaded anywhere?

No. The diacritic remover runs inside your browser: it walks through the text character by character and deletes the marks you selected, without sending anything to a server or storing it. Copy and download happen on your device too, so you can work on an unpublished book, course material or a client's document with peace of mind.

Who needs this reassurance

Most people who strip diacritics are not working on public text. An author preparing a manuscript for a layout program that renders vowel marks badly. A teacher turning vocalized notes into a version for advanced students. A translator delivering a vocalized text and a bare copy to a client. A store preparing product descriptions it has not launched yet. In every case the text belongs to someone, and uploading it to an unknown server is a needless risk.

Why the tool needs no server

Removing diacritics is computationally simple. The tool knows a fixed list of mark characters, such as fatha, damma, kasra, tanwin, shadda and sukun, walks through the text, deletes every one that belongs to a group you turned on, and copies everything else through. No AI, no remote dictionary. Your browser can do all of it alone, even with large text: the tool was tested with about 7 MB of fully vocalized text, and the removal took about a second and a half on the device itself.

What happens to your text

  • The original stays in the input box unchanged, and the result appears in a separate box.
  • The counters (marks removed, marks found, Arabic letters) are calculated from the text on your device.
  • «Copy result» puts it on your clipboard, and «Download text file» builds a file named text-without-diacritics.txt inside the browser.
  • Close the tab and nothing remains. No account, no history, no saved copies.

Try it yourself

  1. Open the Arabic diacritic remover and let the page finish loading.
  2. Disconnect from the internet.
  3. Paste a vocalized line such as «قَالَ: مَرْحَبًا بِكُمْ فِي مَتْجَرِنَا!»: you get «قال: مرحبا بكم في متجرنا!» instantly, with no connection.

A tool that sends text away to process it stops when the connection drops. If you know your browser's developer tools, open the Network tab and you will see that changing the groups or pressing «Remove diacritics» fires no request.

What the tool cannot guarantee

The tool does not send your text, but what you do with the result after copying is out of its hands. Paste it into a shared cloud document or send it in a chat and it falls under that place's privacy. On a shared computer, press «Clear», close the tab and delete the downloaded file if you no longer need it.

One last reminder, about content rather than privacy: always keep the original vocalized version. Stripping marks cannot be undone automatically; عَلِمَ, عُلِمَ and عِلْم all become علم, and no tool can tell which one was meant.

Common questions

Does the tool remember the groups I chose?

No. When you reopen the page the groups return to their defaults: tanwin, harakat, shadda and sukun on, the rest off.

Can I use it for confidential work documents?

Processing is local and the text is not sent, but always follow your employer's policy on handling documents.
