How do I find my real margin on Noon using the commission shown on my statement?

Open your statement, pick one order and add up everything deducted from it: commission plus any fixed or fulfilment fees. Add that total to the product cost and enter the price the customer paid before tax. The margin the calculator then shows is what you truly keep from selling on Noon.

Why your statement and not a fee table

Marketplace commission rates vary by category, can change over time, and may come with further fees depending on how you ship and store. Any figure you read in a forum or a video may not match your account. Your statement shows the amount actually deducted from a real order, which is the most accurate source you have.

The steps

  1. In your seller dashboard, open the settlement or statement details for a completed order of a single product.
  2. Note the selling price before tax and every deduction line: commission, fixed fees, fulfilment or storage fees if any.
  3. Add the deductions together and add them to the purchase cost of the product.
  4. Enter the result as the cost in the Profit margin calculator, and the price as the selling price.
Worked example

A product bought for 55 sells on Noon for 100 before tax.

Before fees: profit 45 and margin 45%.

The statement shows deductions of 15 on this order, so the cost becomes 70.

After fees: profit 30, margin 30%, markup 42.86%.

The gap between 45% and 30% is what you pay the marketplace for access to its customers. It is not a loss in itself, but it has to be in your head before you decide on a discount or an in-platform ad budget.

Careful: commission moves when the price moves

If the commission is a percentage of the price, raising the price raises it too, and cutting the price cuts it. So do not carry the 15 across to a new price. This calculator measures the margin at an existing price. To find the price that hits a target margin after the commission, enter the percentage you worked out from your statement in the percentage fee field of the Selling-price calculator, and any fixed fee in its own field.

Check more than one order

Repeat the check for two or three orders from different categories, since deductions can differ across your range. If you sell on more than one channel, work out the margin per channel for the same product: an item that pays well in your own store may barely cover itself on a marketplace. To keep an eye on fees month by month, you can log them in the Expense summary generator.

Common questions

Does the calculator include Noon's commission rates?

No, and it holds no platform's rates. You type the amounts from your statement, so the result matches your account.

Should I enter the payout I received after deductions as the selling price?

No. Enter the selling price before deductions and add the deductions to cost, so the margin is measured against your real price.
