How to turn photos into one PDF
You photographed a five page contract on your phone, and the office wants one PDF, not five separate photos. Converting takes a minute, and a few small choices make the result look tidy.
How to do it
- Open Images to PDF and pick the photos from your gallery or device.
- Put them in the order you want the pages to appear.
- Choose the page size, orientation and margins.
- Press create and download the PDF.
Three choices that make the difference
Page size: A4, A5 and Letter are available. A4 measures 210 × 297 mm and is what most offices and printers expect outside North America.
Orientation: leave it on automatic so each page follows its photo. A tall receipt stays tall and a wide table stays wide.
Fit: “inside the page” shows the whole photo with nothing cut off, which is best for documents. “Fill and crop” fills the page but trims the edges, and the tool tells you how many pages were cropped so a word at the edge of a document does not disappear unnoticed.
Why is the file so big?
The tool does not compress or shrink your photos. JPEG photos are placed in the file exactly as they are, with no re-encoding and no quality loss, so the PDF is about as large as the photos together. If there is a file size limit, shrink the photos first with the Image compressor and then convert.
Details worth knowing
- Tested limits: up to 20 photos, 20 MB and 50 megapixels per photo.
- PNG images keep their transparency, so the page background shows through.
- WebP images are converted automatically because PDF cannot hold them, and the conversion is noted next to the file name.
- Phone photos that carry rotation information are turned to display the right way up.
If you have another PDF that belongs with the photos, create the photo PDF first and then combine them with Merge PDFs.
Common questions
Are photos of my documents uploaded?
No, the PDF is created inside your browser on your device, which matters for IDs and contracts.
Does the tool read the text in the photos?
No, it does not do text recognition. The result is a PDF of images, so you cannot search it or copy its text.
Can I use iPhone HEIC photos?
Supported formats are JPEG, PNG and WebP. Switch your camera setting to “Most Compatible” or convert the photo first.
