Are my sales figures and supplier lead times saved or sent anywhere when I use the reorder point calculator?

No. The calculation runs inside your browser, and the figures are not uploaded to or stored on any server; the line under the result says so: 'Calculated in your browser. Nothing is sent.' The calculator also does not connect to your store or inventory system, which is why you type the figures yourself. What is left to you is closing the page on a shared device.

Why the question matters at all

The numbers you enter are not ordinary. Your average daily sales reveal how big a product really is for you, the lead time says something about your supplier and how quick they are, and the safety stock shows how much you keep on the shelf. A competitor who knows you sell 40 units a day of a product and that your supplier needs 7 days knows a lot about their chances against you. So it is reasonable to ask where those figures go.

What actually happens when you type

The maths is simple multiplication and addition running in the page itself. When you open the calculator, a sample is already loaded:

Worked example

Daily demand of 40 units and a lead time of 7 days: demand during lead time 40 × 7 = 280.

With safety stock of 100: reorder point 280 + 100 = 380 units.

Replace them with your own figures and the result updates at once on your device, without waiting for any server.

There is no login, no user account, and no link to your Salla, Zid or Shopify store. The calculator keeps no history of what you worked out; reload the page and the fields go back to the sample.

What stays your responsibility

  • 'Copy result' puts the inputs, the result and the assumptions on your device's clipboard. Watch where you paste it, especially in group chats.
  • On a shared computer in the warehouse or office, close the tab or reload the page when you finish.
  • The sheet where you keep each product's reorder point is the truly sensitive file. Protect it like the rest of your business data.
  • When you send a purchase order, the supplier sees the quantity you order, which is normal, but there is no need to send your stock calculations with it.

A comfortable, safe routine

  1. Keep daily sales, lead time and safety stock for each product in your own sheet.
  2. Open the Inventory reorder-point calculator, enter the product's figures, and copy the result into your sheet.
  3. When stock reaches the point, prepare the purchase order with the Purchase-order generator, which also runs in your browser.
  4. Log each order's cost in the Expense summary generator if you want to follow stock spending month by month.

Common questions

Does the calculator need an internet connection to calculate?

It needs one to open the page. The calculation itself runs in the browser and does not send the figures anywhere.

Could someone see my figures later if I used the calculator on their device?

The calculator does not save them, but whatever you copied stays on that device's clipboard until replaced. Use your own device where you can, and close the page when done.
