I'm preparing URLs for products I haven't launched yet; are the titles I type sent to any server?
No. The slug generator builds slugs in your browser with fixed rules, and it neither uploads your titles to any server nor stores them. You can prepare slugs for a whole collection before launch without the product names leaving your device, and the same title will give the same slug on launch day on any device.
Why this matters before a launch
The name of an unannounced collection, a product made with another brand, a seasonal offer that has not started: plenty of store owners would rather none of that got out early. Pasting it into a tool when you do not know where it sends your text means you no longer control it.
What happens to your title
When you type a title, the page's code reads it in your browser and applies a known series of steps: remove diacritics, turn anything that is not a letter or digit into a separator, collapse separators, then cut if you set a length. None of that involves a server request, an outside dictionary or machine translation. An example for an upcoming Ramadan collection:
عطر-عود-ملكي-إصدار-رمضان-2027
royal-oud-ramadan-edition-2027
The first line comes from the Arabic title عطر عود ملكي إصدار رمضان 2027 in Arabic mode, at 29 characters and 129 encoded. The second comes from the English title in Latin mode, at 30. Both were computed on your device.
The same title always gives the same slug
This is a practical point for launches. The tool does not depend on the time, your device settings or any randomness. If you prepare the slugs today on your laptop and a colleague regenerates them on launch day from their phone with the same titles and options, they get exactly the same result, character for character. You do not need to store the slugs somewhere shared to keep them matching; agreeing on titles and options is enough.
A practical way to prepare a whole collection
- Write the upcoming product titles in a file on your device, one per line.
- Open the URL slug generator, choose the mode and options your store follows, and turn on batch mode.
- Paste the list and check for empty slugs and any duplicates.
- Download the result as a text file and keep it next to the titles file, or copy it into your own spreadsheet.
- On launch day, copy each slug into its page on the platform.
What is still up to you
- The tool saves nothing, so closing the page loses the result. Download or copy it before you close.
- The downloaded file and the titles file live on your device; protect them as you would any confidential file.
- The site measures visits, like most sites do, but what you type into the tool is not part of that. The privacy page has the details.
Common questions
Does the tool work offline?
Once the page has loaded, yes, because the whole calculation happens in your browser.
Does the tool remember the last title I typed?
No. Reopen the page and the fields are empty.
If I edit the slug in the result field, what gets copied?
Whatever you see in the field after your edit, not what the tool computed. The same goes for the download.
