Is the customer name list I sort sent to any server?

No. The line sorter runs entirely inside your browser, using the language ordering rules your browser already has (Intl.Collator), so your list never needs to go anywhere to be sorted. The names are not uploaded or stored, and copy and download are produced on your own device.

Why the tool needs no server at all

Plenty of online tools send your text to their server because the job needs something your device lacks. Sorting is not that kind of job. Every modern browser ships with ordering data for each language: it knows, for example, that «أحمد» belongs near «احمد» and that Arabic lines come before Latin ones under Arabic rules. The tool asks your browser to compare the lines and shows the result. Nothing sits between your list and the output.

That is also why a small detail of the order can differ from one browser to another: the data comes from your browser, not from one central server. It rarely matters, but it is practical evidence that the work happens on your side.

What stays on your device

  • The text you paste lives only in the open browser tab and disappears when you close it or press «Clear».
  • The sorted result goes to your clipboard, or downloads as a text file named sorted-lines.txt that is built inside the browser.
  • No account, no sign-in, no history of past lists. Reopen the page and it is empty.

Check it yourself in a minute

You do not have to take our word for it. Try this with a test list:

  1. Open the Line sorter and let the page finish loading.
  2. Go offline: switch off Wi-Fi or turn on airplane mode.
  3. Paste a few names, say سارة العتيبي, محمد القحطاني, أحمد الشهري, نورة الدوسري, and press «Sort».
  4. You still get the result without a connection: أحمد الشهري, سارة العتيبي, محمد القحطاني, نورة الدوسري.

A tool that sends data to a server stops working when the connection drops. This one keeps going because it sends nothing. If you know your browser's developer tools, open the Network tab and you will see that pressing «Sort» fires no request.

Habits worth keeping with customer data

  • Local processing makes the tool safe, but watch where you paste the result next: a WhatsApp group or a shared file can expose names far more than any tool.
  • On a shared computer, press «Clear» and close the tab when you finish, and delete the downloaded file if you no longer need it.
  • If the list carries phone numbers or addresses, ask whether the sorted copy needs them at all, or whether a name and order number are enough.

Common questions

Is there a limit on how many names?

The tool was tested with 100,000 lines, and sorting took about a second on a desktop computer. All of it is processed on your device.

Does the same apply to the other text tools on the site?

The text tools, such as the Duplicate-line remover, work the same way inside the browser, and each tool page says so in its description.
