Is it safe to paste two versions of a confidential client contract into an online comparison tool?

With our comparison tool, yes: the whole comparison runs inside your browser on your own device, neither text is sent to a server, and nothing is saved. Even the result file you download is created by the browser itself. What remains is what happens on your side: the clipboard, a shared computer and the downloaded file.

Why the question is a fair one

Many comparison sites send your text to their server to compute the differences there, and some save the comparison under a shareable link. That is fine for public text, but not for a supply agreement with private prices or a client contract with ID or bank details in it. Before pasting sensitive text into any website, find out where the processing happens.

What happens in the ToolSahla tool

  • Both texts stay in the two boxes on the page, and the page does not send their content to any server.
  • The differences are computed by code running in the browser, which is also why it stops after 2.5 seconds on huge, very different texts instead of handing them to a bigger server.
  • No accounts, no share links and no history of past comparisons.
  • The download button writes text-diff.txt straight to your device, and the copy button puts the result on your clipboard.

A practical way to review a contract

  1. Open Text comparison, paste the version you agreed on in the first box and the version the other party sent in the second.
  2. Choose Words, which suits paragraphs: it shows the changed word inside a clause instead of flagging the whole line.
  3. Go through every struck-through or underlined word. Pay special attention to numbers, periods and party names.
  4. To keep a record, download the result and store it in the contract's own folder.
  5. Press Clear when you finish, especially on a shared computer.

What is still your responsibility

  • The clipboard: after copying, the result stays on your clipboard until you copy something else, and some phone keyboards keep a clipboard history.
  • A shared computer: the text stays on the page while it is open. Close the tab or clear both boxes.
  • The downloaded file: it lands in your Downloads folder like any other file, so move or delete it according to your own policy.
  • Where the text came from: if you copied the contract from email or a cloud platform, it already lives there, and the tool does not change that.

What a comparison can and cannot tell you

A comparison tells you what changed in the wording, not what it means legally. A single word such as 'may' in place of 'shall' is a tiny difference in the result but can change the whole obligation. Use the tool to find the edits, then take the ones that matter to a specialist if you need to.

Common questions

Do I need an internet connection?

To open the page, yes; the comparison itself runs on your device.

Does it work with a bilingual Arabic and English contract?

Yes, and every line is shown in its own direction.

Can I compare a PDF directly?

No, the tool compares pasted text. Extract the contract's text first with the PDF text extractor, then paste it.
