How it is calculated
EU size = 1.5 × last length (cm), one Paris point being 2/3 cm. Last length = foot length + 2/3 in. Combined: foot length (cm) = EU ÷ 1.5 − 1.693.
Example
Inputs: EU size = 24. Result: Approximate foot length: 14.3 cm; Foot length in inches: 5.63 in; Last length: 16 cm.
Limits and caveats
- A 17 mm allowance is subtracted; if the maker uses 13 mm, the fitting foot is about 4 mm longer.
- Brands differ by half a size to a full size, so check the brand chart before you buy.
