How it is calculated
EU size = 1.5 × last length (cm), one Paris point being 2/3 cm. UK child size = 3 × last length (in) − 12; UK adult size = 3 × last − 25. Combined: UK child = EU ÷ 1.27 − 12.

Limits and caveats
- Brands differ by half a size to a full size, so check the brand chart before you buy.
- Above about EU 39 shoes move to adult charts.
