- The result appears straight away and updates as you edit.
- Copy the result, or copy a link that keeps the same values to share it.
How it is calculated
Last length = foot length + 2/3 in. US child size = 3 × last length (in) − 11.75; Y sizes continue the same scale after 13.5C. UK child size = 3 × last length (in) − 12; UK adult size = 3 × last − 25. EU size = 1.5 × last length (cm), one Paris point being 2/3 cm. The JP size is the foot length in cm, rounded to the nearest 0.5.
Example
Inputs: Foot length = 15 cm. Result: US size: 8C; UK size: 7.5 (child); EU size: 25.
Limits and caveats
- The last is taken as 2/3 in (about 17 mm) longer than the foot; some European makers add only 13 mm.
- Brands differ by half a size to a full size, so check the brand chart before you buy.
- Measure both feet and use the longer one, ideally late in the day.
Questions about this tool
How do I measure my child’s foot accurately?
Have them stand on paper with weight on both feet, mark the heel and the longest toe, then measure the gap with a ruler.
Does the result include growing room?
It includes the usual last allowance of about 17 mm over the foot, which is the room left for the toes.
Why does the JP size equal the foot length?
The Japanese system prints the foot length itself in cm on the shoe, in 0.5 cm steps.
