Processing and privacy: The result is calculated inside your browser and your data is not sent to any server.

How to use it

  1. Enter markdown table and output csv delimiter.
  2. The result appears straight away and updates as you edit.
  3. Copy the result, or copy a link that keeps the same values to share it.

How it is calculated

Each line with | is split at every unescaped |, the --- separator row is dropped, and cells are written with RFC 4180 rules, quoting any cell that holds the delimiter, a quote or a line break.

Example

Inputs: Output CSV delimiter = Comma ,. Result: CSV: product,price,qty Tea,12.5,3 Coffee,18,2; Rows: 3; Columns: 3.

| product | price | qty |
| --- | ---: | ---: |
| Tea | 12.5 | 3 |
| Coffee | 18 | 2 |
product,price,qty
Tea,12.5,3
Coffee,18,2

Limits and caveats

  • One table at a time: every line containing | is treated as a row.
  • Markdown formatting inside cells, such as **bold** or links, is kept as plain text.

Questions about this tool

Must every row start with a |?

No. Rows with or without leading and trailing | are read the same way.

What happens to the --- separator row?

It is removed because it only carries formatting, so alignment is not stored in the CSV.

When should I pick the semicolon?

Pick it if your Excel uses a comma as the decimal mark, so the file opens in the right columns.
