Processing and privacy: The result is calculated inside your browser and your data is not sent to any server.
How to use it
- Enter amount (mol).
- The result appears straight away and updates as you edit.
- Copy the result, or copy a link that keeps the same values to share it.
How it is calculated
Particles N = moles n × NA, where NA = 6.02214076 × 10^23 per mol (exact by definition since 2019).
Example
Inputs: Amount (mol) = 2.5. Result: Number of particles: 1.50554e+24.
2.5
1.50553519 × 10^24
Limits and caveats
- It counts whatever unit you mean; for atoms in a molecule such as H2O, multiply by its atom count (3).
Questions about this tool
How many molecules are in one mole?
Exactly 6.02214076 × 10^23, the Avogadro constant.
How do I count atoms instead of molecules?
Multiply by the atoms per molecule: one mole of CO2 holds 3 × 6.022 × 10^23 atoms.
How do I type very small amounts?
Use 1.5e-6 or 1.5x10^-6. Arabic-Indic digits are accepted too.
