- The result appears straight away and updates as you edit.
- Copy the result, or copy a link that keeps the same values to share it.
How it is calculated
cm = inches × 2.54, pixels = inches × DPI, rounded. The ratio is width to height in lowest terms.
Example
Inputs: Print size = 4 × 6 in, Orientation = Portrait, Resolution = 300 DPI. Result: Pixels at 300 DPI: 1200 × 1800 px; Width: 10.16 cm; Height: 15.24 cm.
Limits and caveats
- Sizes are the inch sizes photo labs sell; 10 × 15 cm is a close match for 4 × 6, not an exact one.
- If your photo has a different ratio from the print, part of it will be cropped.
Questions about this tool
How many pixels does a 4x6 print need?
At 300 DPI it needs 1200 × 1800 pixels, about 2.2 megapixels.
Why is my photo cropped at 8x10?
Camera photos are usually 3:2, while 8x10 is 5:4, so the long ends get trimmed.
What is 5x7 in centimetres?
It is 12.7 × 17.78 cm.
