Processing and privacy: The result is calculated inside your browser and your data is not sent to any server.
How to use it
- Enter xml text.
- The result appears straight away and updates as you edit.
- Copy the result, or copy a link that keeps the same values to share it.
How it is calculated
The file is parsed as XML, then each <url> under <urlset> or <sitemap> under <sitemapindex> is read per the sitemaps.org protocol, taking <loc>, <lastmod>, <changefreq> and <priority>. Entities such as & are decoded to &. A duplicate is a URL whose exact text appeared earlier.
Example
Result: URLs: https://example.com/ https://example.com/ar/about/; URL count: 2; File type: URL set (urlset).
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<urlset xmlns="http://www.sitemaps.org/schemas/sitemap/0.9">
<url>
<loc>https://example.com/</loc>
<lastmod>2026-09-01</lastmod>
</url>
<url>
<loc>https://example.com/ar/about/</loc>
</url>
</urlset>https://example.com/ https://example.com/ar/about/
Limits and caveats
- The tool does not fetch files from the web, open the sitemap.xml link in your browser and copy its contents.
- A sitemap index gives the child sitemap URLs only, it does not open them.
- Compressed .gz sitemaps must be unpacked first.
Questions about this tool
Where do I find a site's sitemap?
Usually at example.com/sitemap.xml, or look for the Sitemap: line in the site's robots.txt file.
urlset versus sitemapindex?
A urlset lists the site pages directly, a sitemapindex lists other sitemap files that each hold pages.
Why does the URL show & instead of &?
The protocol requires & to be written as & inside the file, and the tool decodes it to the real URL that works in a browser.
