How do I collect the five colors in my logo and copy them all at once?

Click each color in your logo in turn; every distinct color you click is added to the color history, then press 'Copy all HEX values' to get the full list in one go. The history keeps the last 12 distinct colors for the current image only and is cleared when you open another image or reload the page, so copy it before you move on.

How the history works, exactly

  • Every click or tap on the image adds the color to the history when you release the button or lift your finger.
  • With a keyboard, the arrow keys move the marker without adding anything, and Enter adds the current color.
  • The newest color comes first. Click a color that is already in the history and it is not repeated; it moves to the top instead.
  • The limit is 12 distinct colors. When you add a thirteenth, the oldest one drops off.
  • Clicking any color in the history copies that one value on its own.

Example: a five-color logo

A coffee shop logo with light brown #C49A6C, an ivory background #F2F0EC, dark grey text #1E1E1E, a green leaf #0F6B5F and a gold star #E4B04A. You click the green first by accident, then all five in that order. Six clicks, yet the history holds only five colors, and the repeated green moved up from the bottom of the list to its new place rather than appearing twice.

Press 'Copy all HEX values' and you get the codes one per line, in history order from newest to oldest: #E4B04A, then #0F6B5F, #1E1E1E, #F2F0EC and #C49A6C. That format is ready to paste into a message to your designer, a note on your phone or a spreadsheet.

The steps

  1. Open the logo in the Image color picker. The history starts empty for every image.
  2. Click the middle of each color in the logo, keeping away from edges where colors blend.
  3. Check the history. If an edge or background color slipped in, clear the history and click the right colors again, since the history cannot delete a single entry.
  4. Press 'Copy all HEX values' and paste the list where you need it straight away.

Mistakes that lose your list

  • Opening a second image before copying: the history starts over with every image.
  • Reloading the page: the history is not saved in the browser between visits.
  • Dragging across the image: dragging moves the marker, and when you lift your finger the color where you stopped is added, not the one where you started.
  • A logo with more than 12 colors: copy the list in batches before older colors drop off.

If you want a set order, such as the main color first, click the colors in reverse, because the last color you add appears at the top of the list.

Common questions

Does the history copy RGB values too?

The copy-all button copies HEX values. If you need RGB for a color, click it in the image and copy the RGB value from the current color panel.

Does the history remember where each color was?

It keeps the color and its position internally, but what you copy is the list of codes only.

Can I delete one color from the history?

No. The option is to clear the whole history, so click carefully or rebuild the list if a wrong color gets in.
