My catalog has 250 pages and the converter handles 100 per run; how do I get images of every page?
Load the file once and convert it in three runs: 1-100, then 101-200, then 201-250, downloading a ZIP after each. Every file name carries the page number padded to three digits, so the three batches drop into one folder and sort correctly.
Why the cap is 100 pages per run
The tool accepts a file of up to 500 pages and 100 MB, but it draws every page inside your browser and keeps the finished images in memory until you download them. Two hundred and fifty images at once can bog a machine down, especially an older laptop or a phone, so one conversion is capped at 100 pages. Leave the Pages field empty on your file and you will see: You selected 250 pages. The limit is 100 pages per conversion. Narrow the range.
The batches, step by step
- Open PDF to images, choose the catalog, and set the format and DPI once.
- Type 1-100 in the Pages field, press Convert, then use Download all to get the ZIP.
- Clear the field, type 101-200, convert and download.
- Type 201-250 for the last batch, convert and download.
- Extract all three ZIPs into one folder.
You do not need to pick the file again between batches. Changing the field clears the previous batch from the page, though, so download each ZIP before you type the next range.
Why the order survives the merge
Each image is named from the file name and the page number, and the number is padded with zeros to the digit count of the last page of the whole document, not of the batch. Your file has 250 pages, three digits, so page 7 becomes catalog-p007.png and page 201 becomes catalog-p201.png. Without padding, some programs would list page 10 before page 2. Because the padding comes from the whole file, the first batch and the last one share the same width.
Watch the ZIP name
Every batch produces a ZIP with the same name: catalog-images.zip. Most browsers quietly add a (1) to the second copy, but some settings ask you or overwrite. The safe habit is to rename each ZIP right after it lands, say part1 and part2, before downloading the next.
- If the file has more than 500 pages, cut it into two files first with Split PDF, then batch each one. Remember that page numbers restart at 1 in each new file.
- High DPI times many pages means a big download. An A4 page at 300 DPI is 2481 × 3508 px and at 150 DPI 1241 × 1754 px, so choose 150 when the images are for screens.
- If one page in a batch cannot be drawn, the tool says how many pages failed and still gives you the rest.
Common questions
Can one batch hold 100 pages that are not consecutive?
Yes. The limit counts pages, not continuity, so 1-50 101-150 is 100 pages and goes through.
Do my settings survive if I reload the page?
No. After a reload you choose the file and settings again, so keep the same format and DPI for every batch to get matching images.
How long does a batch take?
It depends on your device and the DPI. A progress bar shows which page of the batch is being drawn.
