How do I watermark only the price pages (4 to 6) and leave the rest of my catalog clean?
Type 4-6 in the Pages field before you press Add watermark. Pages 4, 5 and 6 alone get the mark, and every other page in the catalog is left exactly as it was, with nothing added. The result line confirms the count: in a 12-page catalog it says 3 of 12 pages were watermarked.
Why only the price pages
A catalog sent to trade customers usually has general pages, such as the store introduction, product photos and contact details, and price pages specific to that customer or season. You are happy for the general pages to travel, while the price pages should say 'Confidential', 'Special pricing for one client' or 'Valid until month end'. Stamping the whole catalog spoils the product photos for no benefit.
The steps
- Open PDF watermark and choose the catalog.
- Type the mark, such as 'Trade prices - Al Nokhba Trading', and set the size, opacity and placement.
- In the Pages field type 4-6.
- Press Add watermark. The result line reads: Watermarked 3 of 12 pages.
- In the preview, step through the stamped pages to check the mark, then download.
Ways to write the range
- A continuous range: 4-6 means pages 4, 5 and 6.
- Single pages plus a range: '1, 4-6' means the cover and the price pages together, so pages 1, 4, 5 and 6.
- Spaces separate numbers just like commas: '4 5 6' equals 4-6. But note that '2 5 7' means three separate pages, not page 257.
- Arabic-Indic digits and the Arabic comma are accepted too.
- An empty field means every page. A range beyond the file's page count, such as 4-6 on a 3-page file, shows as an error under the field and nothing runs.
Do the other pages really stay untouched?
Yes. The tool adds nothing to pages outside the range, not a fully transparent mark, not a hidden layer. That matters if you later pull out the photo pages to use elsewhere: they come out clean. And if you would rather separate the price pages into their own file than stamp them, use Split PDF with the same range.
If you need two different marks, say 'Confidential' on the price pages and 'Sample' on the photo pages, run the tool twice: first with 4-6, then on the resulting file with the other range.
Common questions
Does the page order change?
No. The order and page count stay the same; only the mark is added.
How do I find the price page numbers before typing the range?
Open the catalog in any PDF reader and read the page number in its navigation bar. The tool also shows the file's page count once you choose it, so you know the upper limit for the range.
