Where do I get a permanent link for my logo to use in my email signature?
Upload the logo somewhere online that you own and control, such as your website or your store's media library, then copy the direct address of the image itself and paste it into 'Logo or photo URL'. The tool only accepts http and https addresses, because every recipient loads the image from that address each time they open your email.
Why a link and not a file?
You might expect to upload the logo file into the tool, but it asks for an address on purpose. The alternative is embedding the image in the code as base64, and most email programs strip or block those images, so the tool rejects them with 'The image link was rejected. Only http and https links are accepted, and base64 images are not.' The logo lives on a server somewhere, and the signature carries only its address.
In practice: https://example.com/logo.png is accepted as it is, example.com/logo.png is accepted with https:// added, and anything starting with data:image is rejected.
Where to host it
- Your own website: the best option if you have one, because the address sits under your domain and changes only when you change it.
- Your store's media or files library: if your store platform gives a direct address for uploaded images, it works well for as long as the store is live.
- Avoid share links from private cloud folders or chats: many open a preview page rather than the image, need a login, or expire.
How to check the link is direct
- Open the image in your browser, right-click it and choose to copy the image address.
- Paste that address into a private (incognito) window where you are not signed in. You should see the image alone on a blank page, not a website around it.
- An address ending in an extension such as .png or .jpg is a good sign, though not a requirement.
- Paste the address into the logo field of the Email signature builder and look at the preview: the logo sits beside your details, 64 pixels wide.
If the image shows in the private window and in the preview, recipients will see it too, unless their program blocks external images until they allow them. That block is the recipient's choice and no signature can get around it, which is why your details stay as readable text without the logo.
Prepare the file before you upload it
Everyone who opens your email downloads the logo again, so a heavy file slows the signature down. Shrink it with the Image resizer to about twice the display width, around 128 pixels, then lighten it with the Image compressor. After uploading, do not delete or rename the file: every email you have already sent still points to that address.
Common questions
Does the tool host my logo?
No. It runs in your browser and hosts nothing. Hosting is up to you, and the signature carries only the address.
I changed my logo. Do old emails update?
If you upload the new image to the same address, emails opened later will usually load the new one. If the address changes, old emails keep pointing at the old link.
