Why does every page of my invoice say it is not a certified e-invoice?
Because it is true, and the tool says so plainly so the file is never mistaken for something else. The footer states that the document is a basic invoice template, not certified Saudi e-invoicing (ZATCA / Fatoora), and not produced by tax-compliant software.
What is printed, and where
At the foot of every PDF page, in small grey type, the notice appears in the document language you chose: Arabic for Arabic, English for English, and both texts on two or more lines for a bilingual document. Next to it is the page number in the form '1 / 3', so even a page separated from the file still carries the notice.
The same warning also sits at the top of the Basic invoice generator page before you type anything, so you know what you are getting before you rely on it.
What the file lacks to be an e-invoice
A certified Saudi e-invoice is not a look; it is a technical system. Our file contains none of its parts:
- No encrypted tax QR code.
- No structured XML in the required format.
- No cryptographic stamp or digital signature.
- No connection to, or submission through, the Fatoora platform.
Adding a logo or the word 'tax' to a PDF's heading changes none of that. So the notice is not excess caution; it is an accurate description of the file.
Can it be hidden?
No. There is no option to hide the footer or edit its text, and that is deliberate. An invoice that looks official but is not can hurt you more than help, especially if it reaches someone who expects a real e-invoice.
A client asked about the notice: what do I say?
Be straightforward: it is a simple invoice to request payment and record the service. Then ask what they actually need:
- If they just need a document showing the amount and the service, the file does that for most small dealings.
- If they need proof that you received the money, add a receipt from the Receipt generator.
- If their system requires a certified e-invoice, only a certified invoicing solution can issue it, and your business should confirm its obligations with the authority or an accountant.
If you are VAT registered and in scope for e-invoicing, do not use this tool for your tax invoices at all. It can still help with internal drafts or dealings outside that scope, as your accountant advises.
