Questions about this tool

Why does Excel show 1.23E+15?

The cell is too narrow for the full number, so it uses E notation. The value is 1.23 × 10¹⁵, or 1,230,000,000,000,000.

What does e-7 mean in a number?

It means multiply by 10⁻⁷, that is, move the decimal point 7 places to the left.

Is uppercase E the same as lowercase e?

Yes. 1.6E-19 and 1.6e-19 are the same number, and a + after the E is optional.
