Processing and privacy: The result is calculated inside your browser and your data is not sent to any server.

How to use it

  1. Enter deposit amount, annual interest rate, deposit term and interest method.
  2. The result appears straight away and updates as you edit.
  3. Copy the result, or copy a link that keeps the same values to share it.

How it is calculated

Simple at maturity: P × (1 + r × months/12). Compounded: P × (1 + r/n)^(n × months/12).

Example

Inputs: Deposit amount = 50,000 your currency, Annual interest rate = 5 %, Deposit term = 12 months, Interest method = Simple, paid at maturity. Result: Maturity amount: 52,500.00; Interest earned: 2,500.00; Average interest per month: 208.33.

Limits and caveats

  • Banks differ on day count (360 or 365) and rounding, so the figure may differ slightly from your statement.
  • Sharia-compliant deposits pay an expected profit rather than fixed interest, so treat the result as an estimate.

Questions about this tool

Which method does my bank use?

Many short Gulf term deposits pay simple interest at maturity. Check your contract or ask the bank.

What if the term is not a whole number of compounding periods?

The calculator uses a fractional exponent, which may differ slightly from how your bank handles the last partial period.

Do I keep the interest if I break the deposit early?

Usually the bank cuts the rate or drops the interest. The tool does not model that.
