How to use it
- Enter percentage.
- The result appears straight away and updates as you edit.
- Copy the result, or copy a link that keeps the same values to share it.
How it is calculated
1% = 10,000 ppm = 10,000,000 ppb = 10‰. So ppm = percent × 10,000.
Example
Inputs: Percentage = 0.5 %. Result: Parts per million: 5,000 ppm; Parts per billion: 5,000,000 ppb; Per mille: 5 ‰.
Limits and caveats
- The basis carries over: percent by mass gives ppm by mass, percent by volume gives ppm by volume.
Questions about this tool
How many ppm are in 1%?
1% equals 10,000 ppm.
How do I convert 0.02% to ppm?
Multiply by 10,000 to get 200 ppm.
Why use ppm instead of percent?
Small concentrations become readable whole numbers: 5 ppm is easier than 0.0005%.
