How to use it
- Type the value in the petabytes box.
- Read the result in terabytes as you type, and pick the precision you need.
- Swap the direction to convert back, or copy the result.
How it is calculated
TB = PB × 1,000
Multiply the value in petabytes by 1,000 to get terabytes.
Example
To convert 25 PB to terabytes: 25 × 1,000 = 25,000 TB.

About the units
- Petabyte
- A decimal unit equal to exactly 10^15 bytes, which is 1000 decimal terabytes.
- Terabyte
- A decimal unit equal to exactly 10^12 bytes, which is 1000 decimal gigabytes.
Limits and caveats

- Both unit factors are exact by their official definitions.
Questions about this tool
How many terabytes are in one petabyte?
1 PB = 1,000 TB exactly.
How do I convert petabytes to terabytes?
Use TB = PB × 1,000. For example, 25 PB = 25,000 TB.
How many petabytes are in one terabyte?
1 TB = 0.001 PB.
Why does a 1 TB drive show about 931 GB on my computer?
Drive makers count 1 TB as 10^12 bytes, while Windows divides by 2^30 and labels the result GB even though it is really GiB. So 10^12 ÷ 1,073,741,824 gives about 931.32, and no space is missing.
What is the difference between a kilobyte and a kibibyte?
A kilobyte (kB) is a decimal unit of 1000 bytes and a kibibyte (KiB) is a binary unit of 1024 bytes. The same split applies to mega and mebi, giga and gibi, and the gap grows at each step.
