How to use it
- Enter width, height and resolution.
- The result appears straight away and updates as you edit.
- Copy the result, or copy a link that keeps the same values to share it.
How it is calculated
Size in inches = pixels ÷ DPI, and cm = inches × 2.54.
Example
Inputs: Width = 2,400 px, Height = 3,000 px, Resolution = 300 DPI. Result: Print size: 20.32 × 25.4 cm; Width in inches: 8 in; Height in inches: 10 in.
Limits and caveats
- Print size depends on the DPI you choose; changing DPI does not add detail to the image.
Questions about this tool
How big does a 1920 × 1080 image print?
At 300 DPI it prints about 16.26 × 9.14 cm; at 150 DPI it doubles in each direction.
Are DPI and PPI the same?
PPI is pixel density in the image and DPI is printer ink dots, but the two are used interchangeably for print size maths.
What resolution is good for printing?
300 DPI is a common standard for photos viewed up close.
