How it is calculated

For 1 to 11 PM add 12 to the hour and 12 AM becomes 00, then write hours and minutes as two digits each with no separator.

Example

Inputs: Standard time = 7:15 PM. Result: Military time: 1915.

7:15 PM
1915

Limits and caveats

  • AM or PM is required, otherwise morning and evening cannot be told apart.
  • Seconds, if typed, are dropped because military time uses four digits.
