How it is calculated
Each line is split at tab characters, then the cells are joined with commas. A cell holding a comma, a quote or a line break is wrapped in " with inner quotes doubled (RFC 4180).

Limits and caveats
- A cell that starts with " is read as a quoted cell, and an unclosed one gives an error.
- Numbers and dates are copied as they are, with no format change.
Questions about this tool
What is the difference between TSV and CSV?
TSV separates cells with tabs and CSV with commas; the data itself does not change.
Why do some cells have quotes?
They contain a comma, a quote or a line break, and the quotes stop them splitting in CSV.
Does it work with data copied from Excel?
