Processing and privacy: The result is calculated inside your browser and your data is not sent to any server.
How to use it
- Enter code points.
- The result appears straight away and updates as you edit.
- Copy the result, or copy a link that keeps the same values to share it.
How it is calculated
Each hex number from 0 to 10FFFF becomes its character, except surrogates D800 to DFFF. A pair \uD83D\uDE00 is joined into U+1F600.
Example
Result: Decoded text: 😀; Characters: 1.
Limits and caveats
- Numbers are always read as hex, so 1587 means U+1587, not the letter س.
Questions about this tool
Can I enter decimal numbers?
No, enter hex values. Convert 1587 to 633 first to get the letter س.
What is the \u{1F600} form?
Modern JavaScript syntax for code points above FFFF. The tool accepts it as written.
Why is U+D800 rejected?
D800 to DFFF are reserved for UTF-16 surrogate pairs and are not characters on their own.
