How to use it

- The result appears straight away and updates as you edit.

How it is calculated
The year changes by the given count and the month and day stay; 29 February becomes 28 February when the new year is not a leap year.
Example
Inputs: Date = 2024-02-29, Operation = Add, Number of years = 1 years. Result: Resulting date: Friday, February 28, 2025 (2025-02-28); Day of the week: Friday; Difference in days: 365.
Limits and caveats
- Some rules move 29 February to 1 March instead of 28 February, so check the rule that applies to you.
Questions about this tool
What happens to 29 February?
If the resulting year is not a leap year, the tool shows 28 February.
Is a year always 365 days?
No, it adds calendar years, so each leap day crossed adds one day; the real count is in the difference line.
How do I find the expiry of a 10 year document?
Enter the issue date and add 10 years, then check with the issuer since some end the day before.
