How it is calculated
Every character from U+09E6 to U+09EF is replaced by its Western digit: the value is the character code minus U+09E6. The rest of the text is left unchanged.

Limits and caveats
- It converts Bengali digits U+09E6 to U+09EF only and does not touch digits of other Indian scripts.

Why do I need this conversion?
Calculators, spreadsheets and many forms do not read Bengali digits as numbers. After conversion they are read directly.
Does it work with Assamese text?
Yes, Assamese uses the same digits.
Are the Bengali letters changed?
