How do I set my Noon price if the commission on my statement is 15%?
Type 15 in the percentage fee field, any fixed per-order amount from your statement in fixed fees, then your target margin. A product costing 55 with 15% commission and a 20% margin needs a price of 84.62; if your statement also shows a fixed fee of 8 per order, the price becomes 96.92.
Why adding 15% to cost falls short
The commission on your Noon statement is taken from the selling price, not from your cost. Raise the price to cover it and the commission grows with it. Stacking 15% and then 20% on a cost of 55 leaves you less than you expect, because the marketplace takes its share of the bigger number.
The right question is: what share of the price is left after commission and margin? With 15% and 20%, 65% of the price remains, and that share has to equal your cost. So the price is 55 ÷ 0.65, which is exactly what the Selling-price calculator solves.
Where the numbers come from
- Open the settlement statement for a completed order in the same category as the product you are pricing.
- Divide the commission amount by the selling price before tax to get the real rate, and enter it as the percentage fee.
- Move any fixed amount deducted on every order (a fulfilment or transaction fee) into fixed fees.
- If you ship yourself, enter your shipping cost; if delivery is inside the marketplace fees, leave it empty so it is not counted twice.
- Enter the product cost and target margin, then read the suggested price and the fee breakdown.
Cost 55, commission 15%, margin 20%, no fixed fee: price 84.62, commission at that price 12.69, profit 16.92.
Same case with a fixed fee of 8 from the statement: price 96.92, commission 14.54, total fees 22.54, profit 19.38.
The fixed fee of 8 pushed the price up by more than 12, because commission and margin also apply to the extra amount.
The rate differs by category
The tool holds no Noon fee table, on purpose. Rates vary by product category and can change, and a generic figure may not match your account. The only reliable number is what was actually deducted from you. If you sell in two categories, price each product with its own category's rate rather than one average for the whole store.
Know your floor before any promotion
Once you have the price, set the margin to zero with the same fees to see break-even. For the second example it is 74.12. Any in-platform deal that takes the price below that loses money on every order, however many extra units it sells. After real sales come in, check the margin of an order from your statement with the Profit margin calculator to confirm the plan matched reality.
Common questions
Should I include VAT in the commission?
No. The tool works with prices before tax. Work out the rate against the pre-tax selling price, then add tax at the rate you enter once the price is set.
My statement shows more than one fixed fee. What do I do?
Add them all into fixed fees, as long as each is charged once per order and does not change with the price.
