How do I stamp PAID in red in the top corner of an invoice PDF?

In the watermark tool, type PAID (or the Arabic equivalent), choose red, a size of about 36, opacity close to 100%, a small angle such as 15, and Top right with a 15 mm margin. You get a clear stamp that looks like a rubber stamp. It is a visual label on the copy you send; it does not change the invoice's content or turn it into a certified tax document.

A status stamp is not a normal watermark

A typical watermark is faint, grey and in the background, and its job is to stay out of the reader's way. A PAID stamp is the opposite: it must be seen at once, because its job is to tell the customer or the accountant the invoice's status at a glance. So the settings here run against the usual advice: a strong colour, near-full opacity, a medium size, and an empty corner rather than the centre.

The settings

  1. Open PDF watermark and choose the invoice file.
  2. Choose Text and type PAID, or the Arabic word for an Arabic invoice.
  3. Click the colour box and pick a clear red. Leave Bold ticked.
  4. Set the size to 36 and the opacity between 85% and 100%.
  5. Type 15 as the angle. A slight tilt gives the hand-stamped look; the angle is measured counter-clockwise.
  6. Choose Top right with a 15 mm margin, then press Add watermark and check the preview.

Exactly where the stamp lands

On an A4 page with the settings above, PAID at 36 points in bold is about 87 points wide. After tilting it 15 degrees, the tool works out the box around it and places that box 15 mm in from the top and right edges. The stamp's centre ends up about 507 points from the left and 776 points up, squarely in the top right corner without touching the edge.

If that corner holds your logo or store details, choose Top left or Bottom right instead. The tool does not inspect page content, so the preview is how you make sure the stamp does not cover the invoice number or the amount.

Limits to be clear about

  • The stamp is only a visual mark. It does not change the invoice's figures or its status in any system, and it is not proof of payment by itself.
  • If the invoice is a tax document issued by a certified invoicing system, the stamped copy does not replace it. Send it as a customer copy and keep the original as issued.
  • If the invoice is digitally signed, stamping invalidates the signature in the stamped copy.
  • If you make simple invoices with Basic invoice generator, remember it is a basic template, not certified e-invoicing, and you can stamp its output the same way.

Common questions

Can I stamp several invoices in one file?

Yes. If they are in one PDF, leave the pages field empty to stamp every page, or type only the page numbers of the paid invoices.

Can I add the date to the stamp?

Yes, type for example PAID 21/09/2026, as long as the text stays within 60 characters.
