How do I build a PDF catalog from my product photos to send on WhatsApp Business instead of twenty separate pictures?

Compress the photos first, add up to 20 of them in catalog order to the images to PDF tool, leave orientation on Follow the image, then build the file and send it as a document. Numbering the pages afterwards lets customers say they want the item on page 7 instead of describing it.

Why one file beats loose photos in a chat

Twenty photos in a row flood the customer's screen, get mixed up with their messages, and half of them get missed. A single file arrives as one message; the customer opens it when they like, pages through in the order you chose, and can forward it intact. When prices or stock change, you send a new dated version instead of re-sending every photo.

Step one: lighten the photos

The converter embeds photos as they are with no compression, so twenty camera shots can produce a PDF of tens of megabytes, heavy on the customer's data plan and slow to open. Run them through the Image compressor first and cut the dimensions to what a phone screen needs. Check WhatsApp's current document size limits in its settings or help pages rather than relying on a fixed number.

Step two: build the catalog

  1. Open Images to PDF and add the compressed photos. The tested limit is 20 images, one page each.
  2. Order the list the way the catalog should read: cover image, best sellers, the other categories, and finally an image explaining how to order.
  3. Leave orientation on Follow the image. A wide product shot gets a landscape page and a tall one gets a portrait page.
  4. Choose Fit inside so no product is cropped, with a small margin such as 10 mm.
  5. Build the file, flick through the preview the way a customer would, then download it.

Why Follow the image? A wide 2000 × 1400 px product shot on A4 with a 10 mm margin is drawn 769.41 × 538.59 pt on a landscape page. Force every page to portrait and the same photo is drawn only 538.59 × 377.01 pt, much smaller, with big white gaps above and below. On a phone screen that difference is obvious.

Step three: number the pages

Once downloaded, open the file in PDF page numbering and add a number at the foot of each page. If page one is a cover, you can start numbering from page two. Customers then quote a page number in their reply and you know the item at once, even when colors and models look alike.

Tips from real selling

  • Put the price and size on the photo itself before converting if you want them in the catalog, because the tool does not add text.
  • Put the month in the file name, such as catalog September, so nobody orders from an old copy with old prices.
  • With more than 20 products, make one catalog per category. Smaller, focused files are easier for customers than one huge one.

Common questions

Can a customer tap a product in the file to order it?

No, the pages are images with no links. Put your number, or a QR code that opens the chat, on the last page.

Should I send it as a document or as a photo?

As a document, so the PDF arrives intact with all its pages.

Can customers search the text in the catalog?

No, the file is made of images and the tool does not recognise text in them.
