Questions
- How to reorder the pages of a PDFHow to reorder the pages of a PDF using real thumbnails of each page, by dragging or with buttons, and download a new copy while your original stays untouched.
- My scanner fed the stack backwards so the last page is first. How do I reverse the whole file in one click? If a scan came out with the last page first, the Reverse order button flips the whole file at once: 5 pages become 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, with no redrawing and no quality loss.
- My scanner is single-sided, so I scanned all fronts, then all backs. How do I put the pages back in front, back order?Scanned all the fronts into one file and the backs into another? Merge them, then reorder so every back follows its front, with a worked three-sheet example.
- The reorder tool warns that my PDF has a digital signature. What does that mean, and should I carry on?Saving a file in a new page order changes its bytes, so its digital signature stops validating, which is why the tool warns you. When to carry on and when to stop.
- Why use the reorder tool instead of splitting the file and merging the parts back in a new order? The reorder tool rearranges pages inside the same file, so bookmarks, form fields and metadata stay. Splitting and re-merging builds a new file without them.
- How do I move page 280 to the front of a 300-page PDF without dragging it past every page?On a long PDF, don't drag a page past hundreds of thumbnails: the move-to-start button sends it to position 1 in one press, even before thumbnails finish.
- I pressed download and got a message that the order hasn't changed, and nothing downloaded. Why?The tool compares the current order with the original and will not export an identical file. It happens when moves cancel out, after reversing twice, or after a restore.
- I merged my files in the wrong order. Should I redo the merge or reorder the pages of the merged file?If whole files are out of place, redoing the merge is faster; if a few scattered pages are, reorder the merged file. A quick way to tell which saves you time.
- Some pages show only a number instead of a thumbnail. Will they be lost when I export?A failed thumbnail is a display issue only: the page can still be moved and is exported as it is, because export reorders the original pages, not the previews.
- How do I move a whole section, pages 10 to 14, to the start of the file and keep them in order? The tool moves one page at a time, so to move a block to the start, press move to start on its last page first, then the one before, and the block arrives in order.
- Should I reorder pages in the PDF itself, or fix the order in my Word or Canva file and export again? If you have the editable source, re-exporting updates printed page numbers and contents. For scans, received files and final PDFs, reorder the PDF pages directly.
- After reordering, does the file still carry its author and other metadata, and how do I drop it before sending? The reorder tool edits the same document, so its title and author stay. For a copy without them, run it through the split tool with the full range, losing bookmarks.
- I scanned a month of receipts in random order. What is the fastest way to sort them by date?Press move to end on each receipt in date order, oldest first, and the file builds itself in sequence. Faster than dragging, and it works on touch screens and keyboards.
