I published the same offer as a story, a post and a reel. How can I tell which one the order came from?

Give each placement its own link, keep source, medium and campaign identical across all three, and vary only the content field (utm_content): story, post and reel. The whole offer then stays in one campaign row in your reports, and splitting that row by content shows which format brought the visits and orders.

Why content, and not the campaign name

A common mistake is naming the campaign eid_story on one link and eid_reel on another. You end up with three separate campaigns and have to add them up by hand every time you want to know how the Eid offer did as a whole. The content field is there for exactly this case: telling links or ads apart inside one campaign. Campaign answers which offer; content answers which version of it.

The three links as the tool built them

Product page https://example.com/oud, source instagram, medium social, campaign eid_2026. In the UTM campaign link builder only the content value changed between the three:

https://example.com/oud?utm_source=instagram&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=eid_2026&utm_content=story

https://example.com/oud?utm_source=instagram&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=eid_2026&utm_content=post

https://example.com/oud?utm_source=instagram&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=eid_2026&utm_content=reel

All three open the same page. Only the last parameter differs, and it shows in the parameter table as a fourth row with its value and the status Added.

A quick way to make the three versions

  1. Paste the page URL and enter source, medium and campaign once.
  2. Type story in the content field and copy the link.
  3. Without clearing anything, change content to post and copy the second link, then reel for the third.
  4. Keep the three links in a note next to the placement each one went into, so they do not get mixed up.

The tool does not keep what you typed once you close the page, so copy the links before you leave it.

Where the link goes in each format

  • Story: in the link sticker, so the customer opens it with one tap.
  • Post and reel: captions usually do not make links tappable, which is why sellers write 'link in bio'. Then a link in the caption does nothing, because the visit comes through the bio link and is recorded under the bio's values.
  • So if your post and reel point people to the bio, the split you can really measure is story versus bio, not all three. If you promote the post or reel as an ad, put the tagged link in the ad's link field.
  • For print, any of these links can become a code in the QR code generator, with its own content value such as flyer.

Reading the result

In your campaign report, open eid_2026 and add content as a secondary dimension or split by it, depending on what your tool offers. You will see story, post and reel with their visits and orders. Do not judge after one day: a reel can keep bringing visits days after posting, while a story disappears after a day.

Common questions

Can I write the content value in Arabic?

Yes, the tool encodes it safely, but short Latin values are easier to read in the link and in reports.

Is utm_content required?

No, it is optional. The only field the tool requires is the source.
