How do I add a separate WhatsApp link to each product in my Salla or Zid store?
Keep the number the same and change only the pre-filled message from one product to the next, naming the product and its code each time. Then copy each product's link into its description, or into any link field your Salla or Zid theme gives you. Every chat then tells you in its first line which product the customer means.
Why one link per product, not one for the whole store
A general link opens an empty chat or one with a generic 'Hi', so every conversation starts with you asking 'which product do you mean?'. When you stock dozens of similar items, such as several sizes of the same perfume, the back and forth drags on before you can answer. A link per product carries that information with it.
How to build the message
The best message for this job is short, in the customer's voice, and carries the product name and its code as it appears in your store dashboard. The code matters because names repeat and change, while a product code stays fixed and is easy to search. Here are two we built with the WhatsApp link generator:
- 'Hi, I would like to ask about: Oud perfume 50 ml (code OUD-50)': 62 characters, and a 122-character link.
- 'Hi, I would like to ask about: Taif rose oil 12 ml (code ROSE-12)': 65 characters, and a 127-character link.
Notice that the code OUD-50 stays readable at the end of the link, because Latin letters, digits and the hyphen need no encoding. That makes it easy to tell at a glance which link belongs to which product before you paste it.
Steps for several products
- Type the store number once; pick +966 in the country-code helper if you type it in local form.
- Write the first product's message, then copy the link and paste it into the product description or a link field in your Salla or Zid dashboard.
- Go back to the tool and change only the message, leaving the number alone. The link updates instantly.
- Copy the second product's link, and so on for the rest.
- After publishing, open at least one product page on your phone and tap the link to see the message in the text box.
Where the link goes in the store
That depends on your store's theme and settings, not on the tool. Most product description editors let you put a link on some text, such as 'Ask us about this product on WhatsApp', and some themes have custom button or link fields. Put the link behind clear words rather than showing it in full, since an encoded Arabic link is long and unreadable. If the platform's options change, the link does not: it is an ordinary link that works anywhere links are accepted.
Limits to keep in mind
- The tool makes one link at a time and never connects to your store or reads your products.
- Customers can delete the message before sending, so now and then a chat arrives without the product name.
- If you change the store number later, every link needs updating by hand, since the number is written inside each one.
Common questions
Should I write the message in Arabic for Arabic-speaking customers?
Yes if that is who buys from you; link length does not matter behind a button or a word. The Arabic version of the first example is 55 characters with a 282-character link, which only matters if the link is shown written out.
Could I use one link with no message for every product?
You could, but you lose the most useful detail: which product the customer means. A link per product costs a minute more and saves you plenty of questions.
