How to use it
- Enter hex bytes.
- The result appears straight away and updates as you edit.
- Copy the result, or copy a link that keeps the same values to share it.
How it is calculated
Every two hex digits form one byte: 6C = 6 × 16 + 12 = 108, then the bytes are decoded as UTF-8.
Example
Result: Decoded text: Sahla; Characters: 5; Bytes: 5.
Limits and caveats
- A joined string must have an even number of digits.
- Bytes are decoded as UTF-8 only.
Questions about this tool
Does it accept the 0x prefix?
Yes. 0x and \x prefixes are removed, and bytes can be separated by spaces, commas or colons.
Why is an odd number of digits an error?
Each byte needs exactly two digits, so an odd count leaves one byte incomplete.
Can it decode Arabic text?
Yes, when the bytes are UTF-8, e.g. D8 B3 gives the letter س.
