Processing and privacy: The result is calculated inside your browser and your data is not sent to any server.

How to use it

  1. Enter domain or link.
  2. The result appears straight away and updates as you edit.
  3. Copy the result, or copy a link that keeps the same values to share it.

How it is calculated

The domain is split at dots, each label is NFC-normalised and lowercased, and every label with a non-ASCII character is encoded with the Punycode algorithm (RFC 3492) and prefixed with xn--.

Example

Inputs: Domain or link = مثال.السعودية. Result: Punycode (ASCII) domain: xn--mgbh0fb.xn--mgberp4a5d4ar.

مثال.السعودية
xn--mgbh0fb.xn--mgberp4a5d4ar

Limits and caveats

  • Applies NFC and lowercasing only, not the full UTS 46 mapping, so a few rare characters may differ from browsers.
  • It does not check whether the registry allows those characters.

Questions about this tool

Why does an Arabic domain need Punycode?

DNS only accepts ASCII, so the Arabic name is stored as xn-- and browsers show it in Arabic.

What is .السعودية in Punycode?

It is xn--mgberp4a5d4ar, and .مصر is xn--wgbh1c.

Can I paste a full link?

Yes. The domain is taken from the link and the scheme and path are ignored.
