Processing and privacy: The result is calculated inside your browser and your data is not sent to any server.
How to use it
- Enter punycode domain.
- The result appears straight away and updates as you edit.
- Copy the result, or copy a link that keeps the same values to share it.
How it is calculated
The domain is split at dots; each label starting with xn-- loses the prefix and is decoded with the Punycode algorithm (RFC 3492) into Unicode code points. Other labels stay as they are.
Example
Inputs: Punycode domain = xn--mgbh0fb.xn--mgberp4a5d4ar. Result: Unicode domain: مثال.السعودية.
xn--mgbh0fb.xn--mgberp4a5d4ar
مثال.السعودية
Limits and caveats
- It does not flag look-alike spoofing domains; check the name yourself.
- Labels are decoded as written, without checking each character against IDNA2008 rules.
Questions about this tool
Why does a browser show a domain as xn--?
Some browsers show Punycode when a name mixes scripts, to protect you from spoofed domains.
Does uppercase matter?
No. Domain names ignore case, so everything is lowercased before decoding.
What about labels without xn--?
They stay unchanged, like .com or .net.
