Processing and privacy: The result is calculated inside your browser and your data is not sent to any server.

How to use it

  1. Enter text and keep capital letters full size.
  2. The result appears straight away and updates as you edit.
  3. Copy the result, or copy a link that keeps the same values to share it.

How it is calculated

Each a to z is replaced by the matching Unicode small capital letter such as ᴀ (U+1D00), ʙ (U+0299) and ꜰ (U+A730). Capitals stay or convert depending on the option.

Example

Inputs: Keep capital letters full size = yes. Result: Styled text: Hᴇʟʟᴏ; Characters changed: 4.

Hello
Hᴇʟʟᴏ

Limits and caveats

  • These are Unicode phonetic letters, not a font: screen readers may read them with odd names and search may not match them.
  • Unicode has no small capital X, so x stays as typed. Arabic letters do not change.

Questions about this tool

What are small caps?

Letters shaped like capitals but as tall as small letters, used in print for headings and abbreviations.

Why did x stay the same?

Unicode has no small capital X, so the tool leaves x in its normal form.

What does keeping capitals full size do?

When on, real capitals stay full height as in traditional typesetting; when off, the whole text uses small capitals.
