Processing and privacy: The result is calculated inside your browser and your data is not sent to any server.

How to use it

  1. Enter distance, unit, hours, minutes and seconds.
  2. The result appears straight away and updates as you edit.
  3. Copy the result, or copy a link that keeps the same values to share it.

How it is calculated

Pace per 100 m = time ÷ (distance in meters ÷ 100). A yard is 0.9144 m, so pace per 100 yd = pace per 100 m × 0.9144.

Example

Inputs: Distance = 400, Unit = Meters, Hours = 0, Minutes = 8, Seconds = 20. Result: Pace per 100 m: 2:05; Pace per 100 yd: 1:54; Speed: 0.8 m/s.

Limits and caveats

  • Pace is an average that includes turns and rests if you enter the whole session time.
  • Pace is rounded to the nearest second.

Questions about this tool

What pace is a 30 minute 1500 m swim?

It is 2:00 per 100 m, about 1:50 per 100 yd, which equals 3 km/h.

Why is the pace per 100 yd faster?

Because 100 yards is only 91.44 m, so it takes less time than 100 m.

Does it work for open water swims?

Yes. Enter the distance your watch recorded and the time, keeping in mind that GPS distance in open water is less precise.
