How it is calculated
Add: KDV = amount × 20 ÷ 100 and total = amount × 1.2. Remove from an inclusive price: amount before KDV = total ÷ 1.2 and KDV = total × 20 ÷ 120.
Example
Inputs: Amount = 1,500 TRY, Calculation = Add KDV to the amount, KDV rate = 20 %. Result: Total including KDV: 1,800.00 TRY; Amount before KDV: 1,500.00 TRY; KDV amount: 300.00 TRY.
Limits and caveats
- The default 20% is the general rate set by the Turkish Revenue Administration (Gelir İdaresi Başkanlığı) since 10 July 2023.
- Some goods carry 10% or 1%, so change the rate for the item.
