How it is calculated
Add: VAT = amount × 14 ÷ 100 and total = amount × 1.14. Remove from an inclusive price: amount before VAT = total ÷ 1.14 and VAT = total × 14 ÷ 114.
Example
Inputs: Amount = 1,000 EGP, Calculation = Add VAT to the amount, VAT rate = 14 %. Result: Total including VAT: 1,140.00 EGP; Amount before VAT: 1,000.00 EGP; VAT amount: 140.00 EGP.
Limits and caveats

- Some goods carry different rates or table tax, so edit the rate for the item.

The VAT law of 2016 set 13% for the first fiscal year, and the rate became 14% from fiscal year 2017/2018.
Is every product taxed at 14%?
No. Machinery and equipment used in production carry 5%, and some goods are under table tax or exempt.
How do I remove 14% from an inclusive price?
Divide the inclusive price by 1.14 to get the price before VAT. The VAT is the inclusive price × 14 ÷ 114.
