How it is calculated
Percentage = (part ÷ whole) × 100
Example
Inputs: Part = 45, Whole = 60. Result: Percentage: 75%; As a decimal: 0.75.
Limits and caveats
- If the part is larger than the whole the result exceeds 100%, which is mathematically correct.

Why do I get an error when the whole is zero?
Division by zero is undefined, so there is no percentage to calculate.
