How it is calculated
The gap runs from the older person's birth date to the younger one's: whole months first, then the remaining days. It stays the same on any later day.
Example
Inputs: First person's birth date = 1990-05-15, Second person's birth date = 1995-08-20. Result: Age difference: 5 years, 3 months, 5 days; Difference in days: 1,923; Difference in whole months: 63.
Limits and caveats
- The years and months gap is counted from the older date; counting from the other end can differ by a day near month ends.
Questions about this tool
Does the order of the dates matter?
No. The tool finds the older person and gives the same gap.
Does an age gap change over time?
No. The gap between two birth dates stays the same for life.
How do I get the gap in years only?
Read the years figure in the first result; it is the number of whole years between the dates.
