Are my costs and prices stored or visible to anyone when I use the selling-price calculator?

No. The calculation runs entirely in your browser, and the purchase cost, commission rate and margin you type are neither sent to a server nor stored by the page. Close or reload the page and the numbers are gone.

Why this matters at all

Your supplier cost and your margin are among the most sensitive facts in your business. If a competitor learned that you buy an item at 38 and sell it at 66.67, they would know exactly how low they could go to take your customers. So it is fair to ask where those numbers go when you type them into any online tool.

What actually happens when you calculate

  • The formula sits in the page itself, and your browser runs it on your device every time a field changes.
  • There is no submit button and no request carrying your numbers anywhere. That is why the result appears instantly even on a slow connection.
  • The tool does not save your numbers in the browser or put them in the page address, so anyone opening the same link sees the default example figures, not yours.
  • Close the tab or reload the page and the fields go back to the example, so you start from scratch.

Under the tool you will see the line 'Calculated in your browser. Nothing is sent.', which is an accurate description of what happens.

What about site statistics?

The site measures visits in general, such as page views and which tool was opened, as the privacy page explains. Those statistics carry no text or number you typed into the fields. In other words, the site may know someone opened the Selling-price calculator, but not what cost they entered.

Where the real risk lies

Risk to your prices rarely comes from the tool; it comes from how you share the result:

  • A screenshot of the calculator sent to a partner in a WhatsApp group can travel further than you intend. Crop what they do not need.
  • On a shared shop computer, close the tab after calculating so the next person does not see your numbers.
  • If you copy prices into a shared spreadsheet, control who can open it.

Put simply, the tool keeps nothing, so protecting the numbers once they leave it is up to you.

Common questions

Can I use the calculator offline?

You need a connection to load the page the first time, but the calculation itself needs no server.

How do I keep my calculations for later?

Use the copy result button and paste it into your own notes or spreadsheet, because the tool does not save them.
